Unpacking female friend with tantrums

Ever wondered why tantrums are common among young females? Well, in the recent years I’ve learned plenty on why uncontrolled outburst of anger and frustration is common among them. Having a female friend can be great, but there are a whole bunch of things that can get in the way of feeling content and happy about it especially tantrums . Her tantrums over the years always remind me what my mom used to tell me as a tween that tantrums are for posh, pampered and spoilt brats who barely know what the real world is all about. In fact she warned me that life is very unforgiving for cry babies. For the case of this young female who is in her late 20s, internal pressures from work, things like differences in her relationship with boyfriend, lack of compromise is her perfection and generally unreasonable or unfulfilled expectations makes her throw paroxysm like feuding kindergarteners. In most cases, external pressures that come from people or factors outside of her relationship with the boy

Crystal meth addict story

Crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as ice, has destroyed millions of people’s lives including one I came across few days ago. It is a form of the potent stimulant drug methamphetamine and is the purest and most potent form of methamphetamine . It comes as a powder or crystals that are usually snorted, injected or smoked. As a member of outlawed bikie gang, she has been engaged in illegal activity involving the drug.As a consumer, she confessed that its highly addictive. Met her in a drugs rehabilitation center operated by a doctor who happens to be your blogger’s friend. The lady in her mid 20s said the drug can be turned out in makeshift laboratories and has had devastating effects on her .The doctor warned an entire generation is at risk with ice, with ice-related crime on the rise, adding there’s need to tackle the problem .She narrated how her plans for a wonderful marriage evaporated and sadly lost the custody of her daughter because of it, but says things could've been di

Embracing digital era not optional

Embracing digital era is not optional whether for business or individual, farmer in the outback or urban executive. As a kid, my mother used to tell me that change always brings great opportunities and she encouraged me to take a new challenges every two to three years. Whenever I have changed jobs or are given myself new objective, I always need to be ready to deal with many unpredictable things from new responsibilities, new contacts, new challenges, among others . As a result, I have embraced what my mom told me as a teenager as “can-do mentality” fully. Of course, I am human and on several occasions I have been gripped by fear of failure whenever I’m about to start a new project. But I always dare, take risks and act fast whenever possible. That being me, I couldn’t understand an organization executive recently who want a solution but doesn’t want to spend heavily . As I noted, you can’t demand delivery of Ferrari and want to pay amount enough to buy a bicycle.Digital technologies

Young lady's struggle with lung cancer

Couple of days ago, I checked on a friend who is suffering from lung cancer and it was heartbreaking. Her biggest challenge is not the disease itself but the stigma because there is an assumption that lung cancer patients are smokers who’ve brought the condition on themselves and few sympathizes with her . Of cause chronic exposure to cigarette smoke can change lung cells over time, making them more vulnerable to disease and priming them to develop cancer but that not the case with the 29 years old.Few people know that not all lung cancer patients are smokers. In fact, there are some studies that show a third of lung cancer cases in women are not related to tobacco use at all. As she narrated how her auntie talks crap of her, blaming her as a lung cancer patient who was a smoker, which is clearly blaming the victim. She admitted that while at the Australian University she was dating a chain smoker, and that could have been the origin of her problems. She never smoked and her only exposu

Story of a teenager living with depression

A teenager who lives on the neighborhood in a house whose compound full of indigenous trees, where you find many variety of birds, few weeks ago asked me whether I have been depressed. Told him yes, and his next question was, as an adult or youngster? My response was both. The teenager says his isolation is not a factor in his depression as both parents are working abroad, but he says it does make it harder to access parental love.As well as having the added issue of having to move around to find support groups, the stigma attached to mental illness is particularly strong in tween and teens who don’t live with their parents. However, I did realized the teenager also uses the term depression when he is feeling sad or low on moods, but he doesn’t have an idea that depression is actually a real illness that completely affects mental health. The depressive conditions normally goes unnoticed for months and even years, and it can badly affect the life of a sufferer but thats not the case with

A friend’s struggle with weight loss

It is very difficult to lose weight especially with a lack of guidance and understanding, any individual efforts often fail. That happens to be the case with a friend has tried multiple of diet method because her boyfriend encouraged her to lose weight . In the past three years, her and the boyfriend, who happens to be a close friend have been arguing over the best way to manage her weight. Whether trying to lose weight through physical exercise or by managing eating habits, both present similar challenges. Her problems began after being a regular consumer of an average four alcoholic drinks every week and we all know that a serve of alcohol has between 100-300 calories. Drinking too much, too often became a habit she couldn’t do away with. What started as a single drink every few days became a glass or three every single night adding her unwanted calories .She also blamed the boyfriend for her weight woes for always serving her with chocolate after dinner that brought her almost daily

Evocation of Michael Gordon, dead at 62

Death of award winning Australian journalist Michael Gordon following a heart attack while swimming at Victoria’s Phillip Island was not only shocking but unexpected. Veteran Fairfax journalist retired last June after 44 years in journalism, a career mostly spent at Fairfax Media newspapers, he joined The Age as a cadet at age 17, and spent 37 years at the paper and was political editor when he departed. Michael Gordon is one of those journalists that joined the industry when news media was the engine of journalism for Australian society and seen the development in recent decades that has changed it. An inevitable series of transformation in technology, politics and economy has reshaped the communication landscape in Australia. Reportage on major events has raised questions on the quality, impact and the credibility of journalism itself, along with its wide array of interests but there is no single Australian who can question the credibility of the late Michael Gordon work that won hi
