Avoid money lenders if possible

Last week, a friend shared with me how un-payable debts have become a huge burden that even if he to work for another half century it’s impossible to clear. When he shared with me the state of his debt saying that it was going off the scale, my blud’s reaction was my debt is much bigger than Greece and worse of compared to some countries where stands at 200 percent of GDP and if his were to be quantified with GDP it would be something like 500 per cent GDP. However, at the moment he is just doing just fine and that is why a lot of his friends wonder why he was not afraid of, saying ‘Come on, I won’t borrow anymore.’ Why can’t I get more debt seems to be his urge?” This kind of reasoning which is deeply regrettable and a cause for great concern given the uncertain future of today’s young and future generations has become part of our lives but the consequences are dire.  Although am not a financial expert, I know broke has become a relative term and few are managing to g...

Profusion beckon brands that grasp digital opportunities

Recent studies on Internet impact on visionary companies and governments in Africa have shown Governments that fail to embrace e-governance and businesses failing to adopt IT-based businesses would likely founder in the next decade. With over 200 million Internet users, and an average Internet penetration rate of 10% of the population, Africa has an ever-growing market of mobile commerce and online customers. To capitalize on this digital growth, the continent of more than one billion people is entering an age of opportunity for small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs who embrace the online and mobile technologies. Increasing numbers of Internet based customers are creating a huge online market and necessitating the need for new and improved business models, which can then be leveraged by small and medium sized businesses. Laying foundation for East Africa’s coming middle class

A new report outlining the unrivaled and massive potential of East Africa’s fast expanding consumer class has noted that the number of people recognized or classified as middle income in the region will grow to 90 million by 2025. It is now well documented that the regional bloc’s demographic dividend and rising per capita income present a once in a generation opportunity for the East African Community countries to lift themselves up by the boot straps. If these optimistic projections pan out, East African countries of Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi will join the ranks of developed economies in the not too distant future with Kenya expected to be a middle income country ten years before the other four by 2030. The study cites the increase in the middle class is Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania is unprecedented and expected to present a huge opportunity for businesses to utilize immediately. East Africa is not about linear growth anymore and has shown that through a ...

Neighbor, come to the house window and talk to me before I go to bed

When I was growing up my mother taught me that maintaining harmony and good relations with people of all race was the key to enmity free life and with time I learned that such foundations are built over the years. Also, she used to narrate how our neighbors at our home in Melbourne came from the different roots and had no blood or race ties and there was distinct cultural history entrenched but despite some racists buffoons the area was a haven of peace. Time have changed now and last time was in Melbourne it was clear relationships and neighborliness is bound by social, economic ties and cooperation in various fields well as people to people relationship between in the estate. The people of all races continues to move forward with stronger cooperation and good relations in order to scale greater heights something was missing in mid 1980s and early 1990s when Oz was going through economic turmoil. While the educated looks to negotiations and diplomacy to solv...

A friend's good looking invokes sexual harassment

Last night I had an interesting phone conversation with a female blud who works and live in Sydney. I initiated it after reading her Tweeter posts where she blasted men as evil minded and that between devil and men she will choose the former and that the only thing necessary for victory of evil minded is for good men to do nothing but turn their head staring at women’s biological factory. Although I did not agree with her post that men are cruelest animals, there is no doubt being too good looking and especially those who go to public places face myriad of problem. The Sydney-sider told me her beauty is holding her back and that this year it has caused unmatched discrimination both in the workplace and social places. When I shared a post recently,  a close friend based in Dublin told via mail that I should leave women alone and focus on blogging on topics that are cakewalk to me and her argument was that beauty has nothing to do with moral and dignity bankruptcy. Sydne...
